Hi, I've just tested the voltage for the plug going into the motor while the ignition is on.

Zero volts.

I'm concluding that the fuse must be blown.

I'll now take the plate off and look for the fuse..

Ok, I've tried to find this fuse in the passenger floor pan. I still can't find it. It's not behind that metal plate thing or under the carpet.

I've run voltage to the cooling fan motor. The fan spins well, so I know there are no problems with the motor.

I've also taken the car for a drive and waited for it to heat to over 120 degrees C. I then tested for voltage to the plug. Zero Volts.

So it must be the fuse, the sensor or the suction fan module.

I can't find the fuse, so I started to take out the front right headlight so I could get to the suction fan module. I unscrewed two (what looked like 8mm) nuts but the headlight wouldn't come out easily. I didn't want to break anything so have stopped until I get a manual.

Can someone help me find the fuse for the cooling fan??

Also, where is the temperature sensor that sends a message to the suction fan module?

anyone ?

your car was produced dec 15 2000.

all W220 got fuse on that black box inside. you need to open it.

however, since your model is 2000, you got the module and the fuse is under the hood.

this is the wiring diagram of your car.

M4/3 is the suction fan motor.

F1/1 is the fuse box on the right engine compartment.

48 is the fuse number location.

7.5 A fuse rating. this fuse is only for the control, and not for the motor.

the fuse that feeds the motor is number 33 which is 60A.

now you have to consider checking two fuses alread.

if the fuse 33 and fuse 48 are good....

then you are now looking at a deective suction fan control module.

if the fuse 33 and fuse 48 are good....but no power...

then you have to go back to that X4/10 150 A fuse under that metal covering on passenger's side.
wait....your car is right hand drive!!! so it should be on the left.

i am giving this to you piece by piece on separate replys so you can absorb them individually and cannot mixed up.

so far i have covered things that could clear you up.

I must say there is not a lot of chit chat on this forum (which may very well be a good thing) but the information is golden. Sleepwalker, you are a great asset for all of us to learn from.
