Hello all ! I installed a new Airmatic pump about 7 months ago and I noticed the mounting bracket was rusted and broken. I finally R&Red the bracket for a new one yesterday. While I was working on the car, the left headlamp warning light was on (on the dash) I repaired the headlight problem by replacing the lamps ballast. The dash warning for the bad lamp is gone. But now I have the airmatic warning light on the dash. I dont know if that airmatic warning was there before or after I worked on the car. When I received the car the bad lamp warning was on. My question is: How do those dash warnings work. Is there a hierarchy of warnings, does it show more than one warning at a time or does it indicate both problems .The airmatic system is working fine . The only thing that I could have done to trigger the Airmatic warning was to unplug the small electical connector on the air pump while the key was on. My feeling is that this unplugging triggered the airmatic lamp on but I am not sure. I disconnected the battery for 30 minutes but that did not clear the Airmatic warning. I know on GM cars If a OBDII problem is fixed the light will clear it self after so many starts(50). does MB have this feature or will I have to turn the warning off with a scan tool for M.B. . 7 months ago after I installed the new oem air pump the warning lamp cleared itself(disconnecting the Batt) and was working fine. Someone with experience on this subject would be massively appreciated.
