well i just took off the compressor, and when i removed the weather pack connector from the air compressor(the wiring). It was really hard to remove, once i got it aparprt the connections in side the pack were melted. So does this mean that the compressor got tot hot and the wires melted oris the weather pack the problem

what happens is the car has a leak then the pump keeps running then the relay gets hot and then the compressor stays on then it gets to hot then blows the fuse. replace the pump, you might need to repair the wiring in the connector on the car side of the harness that plugs into the pump

RE: PLEASE HELP with my 2000 S500 AIRMATIC SYSTEM
even though the compressor runs it still could be faulty. the most common leaks are at the stut tops under the hood. have you had them fixed yet? her is a pic.. sorry poor lighting and poor pic. if they havent been done they could have small fine cracks in the sealant and thats where the air leaks from.. you can pour water on the tops and then you will see bubbles coming out if it is leaking. if they have been repaired then the tops will be "dug out" and possibly painted but you can tell if its been repaired because the top will be concaved about an inch down. the pic that is attached has not been repaired so it is "flush" with the top of the stut still. and you cant see the whole brass valve, if its been repaired you will be able to see the whole brass valve since its concaved down and inch.
