Default air suspension problem

I have a 2000 s500. When I start the car the pump comes on then shuts off like its suppose to. The car doesnt drop and I have no warning lights on, but when I drive it, the pump comes on for about 10 seconds. It does that like every 2 or 3 minutes. So Im not driving it because I dont want to burn the pump out. Does anyone know if it is a sensor or an air leak? I can let it run in the driveway and it sits level and the pump doesnt come on. It only happens when i drive it. The pump sounds louder than usual.

okie dokey experts, what do ya think about this...... I have a 2000 S430 I have had it about 6 months and I am not sure what has been done to it previously. the car has 120k miles on it, and I ASSUME that it was well maintained due to the fact that it came from the CEO of Sony music Nashville. recently, (last month or so) the air suspension is acting up. MOST mornings, the rear is completely down and I get the red DO NOT DRIVE light. Some mornings, the front passenger side is down and the rear is higher than normal (no warning light on these mornings) sometimes (rarely) its at nearly perfect height.... also here are some things I've noticed.....the other night (while the rear was low) I opened the trunk and the car raised itself back up (ignition was off) I havent seen this before or since. sometimes when I open a door (car off) I can hear it release air from the front right side is all this normal? I would think it was an air leak except some times the rear is high and the front right is low....HELP

thanks!

Jay

PS< I should also say that when I start the car, it comes up and levels out as it should and stays at that level for a few hours after I turn the car off.

Default 2001 S500 air suspension.

HI.
My air suspension is pumping my car up to the last and it is rock hard to drive.
Some times the ride height switch wont let the car up or down.
also the easy close function on the passengers door stop working.

any help would be great.

i am also having trouble with the drivers sides going down low...too low after pulling in the driveway..(height change)
anyone know where the pump and height sensor arm are located? recently had tires and brakes installed... maybe a clue...

I have the same problem i believe you described my solution. my car ribs when the lift goes out. it still lifts when i want it to so i know the pump works and is relatively quiet. but i think it forgets sometimes the proper height and shuts off. I'm going to try the height sensor tomorrow. thanks for this feed

OK so Mercedes air suspension problems can be really frustrating. I have found an alternative that is a very good fix for the many problems found.
Check out Strutmasters,I have personally done 4 installs and found great results.
