2000 S430 stereo
I have done a lot of research into a few parts that could fix this problem. But anyway...
I am an audiophile at heart, and my S430 does not have an AUX. port in it. I know that later models had an AUX port in the glove box but this one doesn't. The CD Changer in the car is broken too. So the parts I have seen are Fiber Optic to AUX adapters that go in place of the CD changer.
Now I know that I can do this in that way already.. but I do not know how WELL it will work. I would like to know the best way to give my car an AUX. port that gives me great sound quality. Any suggestions or ideas?

well buddy, I did more research on my own.... You have 2 options that are great quality. You can get a Dension Gateway Lite or a Dice Fiber Optic to Ipod adapter.
Both are pretty much the same except the Dice one has an aux port while the Dension has a usb port. BOTH have ipod integration for your system though.
The system in our cars are old so the devices dont integrate very well. You can control volume and press next and previous on your steering wheel. You can also hold down next or previous to fastforward through tracks.
THE GOOD THING though is that the devices do not lock up your ipod, so you can pic your music via your ipod/iphone.
I am still awaiting 2 more parts for the Dension Gateway Lite to arrive, but when I get them and install them I wil let you know how it turns out.
Both of these are fiber optic mods and replace the CD changer, but you get CD quality from your ipod this method so I am not complaining at all.
