Hey Guys,

I'm a new 2000 MB S430 owner. I have one question; every time i turn on the car i hear this constant noise from the trunk, specifically the top left of the trunk area. It sounds like a gear or a motor trying to engage and grab something. At night if i were to turn on an interior light and i can see it dim when the sound is active so it is putting a strain on the battery. Any ideas?

 

Do you know roughly how much it costs to fix? if i buy the part myself would it be easy to fix?
