Default 1997 S420 Breather hoses

Spark plug change was successful. However, I found that a breather tube was cracked. It was $18 at dealer. Bought it. But, it was "soft".

Turns out all my "hoses" have hardened and are brittle. They all start with 119 094 then a 4 digit number.

I tried to replace the one tube, now it's getting to be a disaster. I need to order 4 more tubes. I found a place on the internet which looks like half the price as the dealer and they are OEM parts so that's better.

One other tube I found in the back is actually "falling" apart, or dissintegrating.

It's a much larger tube, and when standing in front of the engine and looking toward the rear, the hose starts on the left side near the spark plugs and then comes to the center and on to the lower section of the engine. I haven't "pulled" this hose to get the part number, what are all these tubes?

I can't find diagrams in my DVD from Benz. I'd like to look up the hose and part numbers to be sure I'm ordering the right stuff. The DVD doesn't acknowledge that the tubes exist.

Oh well. I'll get there. Website that looks pretty good is, www.promotrizint.com, any opinions of this company?

Thanks.

Hello aztntrunner,

First off, I am one of the people behind the site you are asking about. We are a small individually owned parts distributor. We have a background on the repair shop side as well as in the OE manufacturing world in sales and technical services. We have started this website to better serve the owners of European vehicles. I do not want to give you a bunch of sales talk here, we are guys like you, that have a keen interest in European vehicles. We are not a big company and you will always be able to talk to one of the owners. Feel free to contact us if you have a problem finding a part. Chances are good that we can source it for you at a reasonable price, if not we will tell you. We are not going to try to upsell you or sell you something you do not need. I think that is enough of the propaganda. Thank you for the nice feedback on our site. We are still trying to improve it.

As far as the hose you are looking for, I will look at the parts catalog tomorrow if I can find what you are looking for. You can contact me if you want the contact info is on the website.

Ruben

Ruben,

Since I last wrote, I was able to get into the section of the engine and found the part number on the hose. I had to "tear" it off, but it was legible.

I have my shipment coming. Looks like it is coming out of Florida, though the site looked like it was a Texas address.

My only dissapointment is that it looks like UPS will be delivery next Monday as opposed to Friday. I should have paid the extra money for faster shipping.

Thanks again, and I've booked mark the site for future purchases.

Thanks aztntrunner. We ship out of three different warehouses at the time. It just depends where the part is available. We are working on getting a solution to tell our customers where the parts would be shipping from.

Received the hoses. You may want to ask the buyer if they want connector pieces. I had to go to the dealer to get a few additional parts. The connectors are buried in the old hoses and I didn't see them.
