Default 1993 400SEL - left signal lights stay on even when key removed

I have this strange problem the left turn signal lights staying on & will not flash.

This also manifests itself when the car is turned off & key removed from the ignition.

Has anybody heard of such a thing happening?

I have found that the instrument cluster fuse #17 will eliminate this but all the other lights inside are cut as well when the fuse is removed.

Also does anybody have a wiring schematic or diagram for this model & year?

Signed,
Desperately Seeking solutions

Another thing about this is the lights are the turn signal lights not the fog safety lights or "standing" lamps.

hello,

turn your headlight switch to off position cause what you have done when you you tried to shut off your headlights with the switch you turned a little more to the left than it was supose to , so look at it and switch it clockwise direction just once.. and that should fix your problem, letus know how you make out..

Thanks but see the last post above, it is NOT the standing lights, the light switch has no effect at all on this.

I have owned this car for over 3 years now & am familiar with these different light modes.

This is a short or module problem of some sort.

you have to check the signal light turn switch, it may need servicing/cleaning, try playing with it by turning up down and see if there are any changes, and if you switch off the key and the light is still on, the wire going to that port has a problem and should be trace back starting from the fuse box back to the turn switch.
