Default Oil Change

Greetings! Bought an R350 about 2 months ago; not terribly happy with it, but stuck now for 33 months. I brought it in for its complimentary 1,000-3,000 mile check-up and happened to ask what they ( the dealer) got for an oil change; answer: $280. No way, I'll do it myself. Found a decent looking oil vacuum from LiquidVac for $49.95 plus $12.00 shipping and an oil filter from Germanfilters.com for $14.99 plus shipping $4.75. 8 quarts of Mobil 1 should run about $6.99/per where I live. Thatbrings the price in around $137.61. I can use the vacuum for my lawnmower, snowblower, etc. I'm pretty sure I can figure out the vac to get the oil out and can figure outwhere to put the new oil in, also I found on this forum how to reset the FSS. Question: where the heck is the oil filter? Any assistance appreciated. Thanks!

On top of the engine. Lift the plastic cover and you will see it. At least thats how it is on my R320 CDI
