Where is the Thermostat located?

Default Where is the Thermostat located?

Hey guys I need to change the thermostat but don't know where it is located? The car is getting hot very fast and both fans are not turning on.

Follow the upper radiator hose to the thermostat housing. You may have to check fuse ot thermocouple sensor for your cooling fans.

You cannot buy just a thermostat. MB built the T/S into the housing so it comes as a complete assy. I could not find an aftermarket so had to buy it from MB.
On the issue of the fans, check the fuse as it tends to blow. As the car gets older they tend to draw more current. MB recommends that the wiring be changed to a larger AWG gauge then the fuse rating be increased. If my memory serves me, you up it to a 20 or 25 amp one.

i agree with mbenz80 - on all the cars i have ever worked on the logic is exactly that follow the radiator upper hose to the engine!!!
