Default Steering problem!!!

Hello everyone and thanks in advance for any help. It's cold where I live right now and I came out this morning to the truck to start and when I did I hear a weird sound coming from the engine bay. When I turned the steering wheel back and forth it got worse. As it warmed up the sound went away. Is it because the power steering fluid is low? If so, where is the fill for it in the engine bay?? I drive an 03 ML500. Thanks

Power steering fluid is found towards the right-front side of the engine. You will have to remove the engine cover to find it. You may want to check the power steering hose near the front-right of the radiator. There was a recall on this. It popped of on my 2003 ML500. I wonder if yours is working loose. If you have not had the hose and clamp replaced on your truck...I advise you do.

I have a '00 ML 430 and my power steering was making that noise every so often. It got worse because it would make the sound even after the car was off! My power steering fluid was full. So I took it in and turns out something to do with an electronic relay for the pump. The pump was going bad. Check that out if you're still having the problem. The pump is a black box towards the front right tire.
