Default Size of the flanged nut on the front axle?

Hi All,

I'm new to the forum.I'm changing the lower ball jointson a friend's 98 ML320. Isearched theFSM, but couldn't locate the size of the flanged nut that secures the axle to the knuckle.I tried measuringthe width with my calipers, but couldn'tget a 100% accurate reading because the hubdoes not all the arms to seat properly. That being said, it looks to be36 mm. Is this correct? I want to be sure, so I don'tbuythe wrong socket.

Thanks,
Paul
