new battery for ML320
is there any special instructions to replace the battery of the 2001 ML 320? is it the same way with the other cars...just pullout the cables(-&+) and put the new battery?...
I'm assuming you've already done it but for the sake of future searches - yes.
I just changed my battery and it was pretty simple. It's a lot easier if you remove the metal bracket which allows you to move the metal sidewall to the side. I did need my wife to hold things a side whilst I dumped the really heavy battery in.
Pretty easy really though. Certainly better than forking out the money to the dealership.

Hi. I replaced the battery on my ML320 two months ago and had some few problems with the Immobilizer/Alarm system setting off as soon as I disconnected the old battery.
Usually on other cars it is possible to cut off the alarm with a special key. I found no other solution than replacing the battery with the alarm screaming in my ears.
Not only. I had to reset the traction control system by following the instructions in the manual and had to go to the MB dealer to re-sincronize the second keyfob, because the remote buttons didn't work anymore and the manual instrucions for this was not sufficient to settle the issue.
Sincerely I don't know if I would change the battery again alone, without knowing how to avoid all these problems!
