Default ML320 Truck

In September I had a power steering pump installed in my vehicle. The vehicle is now in the shop and they are saying that the seals need replacing and explained that the new pump probably blew out the old seals. Isn't that somethingthey should have replaced the first time and do I have recourse?

I'm guessing the leaking part now is your steering assist ram under the truck? If so that is a separate part so no it wouldn't have been replaced since it not really part of the pump system, but the steering system itself. Similar to if your fuel pump goes out they do not replace your injectors. Sucks. Welcome to the world of the ML. Mine has had over $11K in repairs since new in 2001, and I recently had the dealership print out my complete history, granted each service is a page or two with descriptions and such, but the whole report was 85 pages long. They do look nice and are fun to drive though and I'll probably keep mine for a few more years - barring no major problems.
