Default ML270 CDI all whells lockup while driving

hi all, i am new mercedes owner, i only had my 2001 270ML CDI one day when all of the wheels suddenly locked up for 1 or 2 seconds while travelling at about 60kph and then the BAS/ESP light lit up. The car did this 5 or 6 times, over 10klms, while i returned it to the dealership, apparently it was a faulty sensor (Mercedes replacement sensor $2600.00). has anyone else heard of this problem?

thanks in advance

This hapened only ones so far to my wife while taking ramp onto freeway. I believe the computer thought the car is going to a spin and locked up wheels for second. My wife shut it off and turned around, drove home about 4 miles. I believe that only BAS/ESP was on at that time, I reset it by turning steering wheel lock to lock twice and drove the car whole week without any problems. Then all 3 left warning lights came on in my driveway, I opened up brake pedal switch and one of two internal moveable contacts was broked off. Switch was only $8 or $12 at the dealer. After installation again I have reset the steering angle sensor by turning the wheel from far left to far right and never had any problems since (for one year now driving it daily).

thanks for the reply, it turned out to be a burnt out chip on the computer main board, which melted a balance sensor. All fixed now, happy again

thanks
