ML 320 trailer wiring harness location
Hi,
Newb here, I am looking for the location of the harness that the factory trailer wiring harness connects to. Searched here, but no specific info found. There is an unconnected plug above the passenger rear wheel, but it has only three wires connected, and I don't read any voltage on any of them w/the lights on. BTW, it is a 2001 ML 320. Please help!

It's on the oposite side, right next to fuel filler neck or tubing. Remove plastic cover of driver's side cargo compartment and harness is attached to the fuel tank neck with plastic wire ties. I have the oem hitch installation manual but I can't upload the picture as attachment here, so if you need more info, PM me your e-mail address and I would scan & forward it to you.

STILL CANNOT LOCATE STOCK ON HARNESS. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD LUCK WITH THIS. ON MY 2002 ML320 THE HARNESS IS LOCATED BEHIND SOUND PROOFING MATERIAL AND VERY HARD TO GET TO, MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO TRY AND SPLICE. i CAN REACH CONNECTOR AND SHOULD BE ABLE TO PLUG HARNESS IN IF AVAILABLE.
Maybe someone has a picture and part numbers off of the connector, I could order connector and build my own.
Any help with this?

The last harness I have seen on e-bay was sold for $160. I paid for my OEM Oris hitch assembly $200. Keep looking, call junk yards, older MLs are slowly showing up. Contact e-bay sellers with body parts listings. Good luck.
