In this picture you can see a small crack, that's visable when the rear screw to pulled loose.

Here you can see how the rear screw hole is broke out and the seat side thing is loose. What is the proper name for this and I guess it's a dealer item. I can't find anything on e-bay, but than again I don't know what it called

Where oh, where did you find the online manual for the ML320. I have similar (worse) problems with my door locks, and would LOVE to find a manual for the thing.
