I recently replaced the batteries (bought from the dealer) in my keyless remote and now I am having problems getting it to work. Yes, the batteries are in correctly!! I have a 99 C280 Sport. When I press the unlock button the parking lights flash and the interior dome light turns on but the car remains locked. When I press the trunk and lock buttons the red light blinks but nothin happens. Does anyone have any idea what this means? Do I have to order a new keyless remote? I was told that maybe the car does not register the infrared signal from the remote to the car? HELP... PLEASE!!!!!

 

if your cars light flash when you press your remote, the car is recieving the signal, your remote is fine, sounds like your central locking pump is not working. if you press the lock/unlock button on your centre console, does your central locking work? if not check your fuses. or your central locking pump has burn't out (common fault)

 

Thanks for your response!! The center console switches nor the central locking switch are working. Where is the central locking pump located? I have tried to check the fuses but I cannot access the fuses in the trunk. With the console switches, that operate the windows, mirrors and trunk, not working I have to use the mechanical key to lock the doors. BUT... the mechanical key will not unlock the trunk. Is there any other way to access the trunk? possibly taking out the back seat? I have decided to take my car in to have it serviced, do you think this will be costly to repair? Any feedback would be appreciated.
