Also, where do I find the lamp - do I need to go to the MB dealer? I have a 2000 ML 320. Any help will be much appreciated.

 

You can look in the users manual... in the back, it lists the number for the bulb required. You can get them at any local parts store. On the back side of the light in the motor compartment, there is a "door" on the back of the light. There is a small latch at the top. Squeeze the latch and the door can swing down out of the way. You can then access the rear of the light bulb. Remove the plug from the back of the bulb assembly. Then remove the bulb from the reflector assembly by rotating counterclockwise. To install the new bulb reverse the process...When installing athe new bulb be very careful not to touch the buld glass with your fingers or anything oily... this will cause premature failure of the bulb. There may be some minor variation in the processs described here but you should be able to tell once you have gotten into it. The key is getting the bulb. If worst comes to worst, go the the parts store.. the guy behind the counter will likely give you a hand, as long as you have your manual available..
