gearbox problems

gearbox problems
I have an ml 430, i left the sunroof open over night, and it rained heavy.
now my gearbox won't change gear, it is stuck in 2nd gear when i select 'D'
also the selection window next to the clock is blank now instead of showing which gear, it is supposed to be in. any ideas?
