Default Cold temp. starting problems

I have searched and searched this forum and still can’t find my problem. I have a 2000 ML 430 and the problem is with cold starting. Not only when the engine is cold, but the temperature outside is. The colder it gets, the worse the problem is. PROBLEM….When the car sits for about 7 or more hours, it doesn’t want to turn over. You can turn the key, some[/b] of the dash lights and stereo come on, but it won’t turn over. If I turn on the ignition and let it sit for @ 1-2 min. the rest of the dash lights come on and the engine starts fine. Once started, it has never stalled. Sometimes I just keep turning the key and it will eventually start, but I have noticed that when the long strip of dash lights on the bottom all come on, it ill start. I have moved around relays and fuses from the starter and the fuel pump, but still no luck. Also, when warm, it starts every time. Relay????? I know you guys will get this one.

Default RE: Cold temp. starting problems

Wanted to add, that when cold, the first time you hit the ignition, there is a lound fan noise. Almost sounds like bad bearings in this fan. Once warm, it stops too.
