RE: Catalytic Convertor for ML55
I replace my drive side 2 months ago at 107,000 with an after market one but I'm from NJ. Now if you was able to catch this question I person stated that he got a replacement for freefrom the dealer due to a recall. I have a 98 SL320 his was a 99. Might want to give the dealer a call before anything else.

RE: Catalytic Convertor for ML55
Hi there. I bought my from "autopartswarehouse.com" for my 98 ML320. - $400 free shippingThe driver side was replaced. Not sure of the make but it fit with no problem. You need to take the torsion rod out so the converter can get out. That was a little tricky but all you have to do is look at the end of the rod there is a big nut (18MM socket) take this nut out. There is also a sleave in the front of the rod just lossen the little nut and a little tap with the hammer the hold thing came right out. You need to take out the trans bracket that runs across the bottom of the car. I went to the dealer to get a new ban clamp at the muffler ($16) Also got the bolt and nuts for the side bracket from the dealer ($7). I did the whole thing in about 2 hours. Probably saved about $1,200. The trans need to be supported before taking the bracket out. After I took the old one outI had my friend weld the old for just to have for I'm looking for a 2001/2002 . good luck

Thanks for your reply.
Autoparts warehouse do not have it.
The one for ML55 is different than ML320.
Which make is yours? DCE brand?
Are you happy with it?
Is it louder than normal?
Let me know
Thanks
