Anyone Done Their Own Front Brakes?
My 03 ML-350 doesn't need front pads yet, but I'm going to change them anyway because I'm sick of the brake dust. I've owned a lot of cars over the years but mercedes puts out more brake dust that all my others combined. Anyway, I'm going to use ceramic pads from This Link so with shipping I'll have about $70-75 in the pads. They are the same brand pads I put in my Expedition a few months ago and they stop great and are practically dust free so far. Just wondering how much trouble they are to swap out. Last german car I did brakes on was a BMW and it was a major PITA.

I have done it on a 98 ml320 and a 350. just do a quick search on the net. you will have to buy the star sockets if you do not have them. It was not that big of a pain in the butt, just took more time than I thought it should have. I changed the pads for the same reason, the brake dust that is generated is unbearable.

The front pads are easy to swap out. Don't forget to get new brake pad sensors if yours is covered in brake dust.
I use Mintex Red brake pads. Great stopping power with no dust and cheap - $55 for the front pads.

I replaced pads at all 4 corners on our '02 wagon last weekend....if you've done brakes before, there were absolutely no surprises.
If you have never worked on brakes before, don't proceed without someone knowledgeable looking over your shoulder.
