ML 350 139,000 miles, when I start vehicle the low range light flashes, I'm not sure if it is going into low or not, runs fine, at cruising speed tach is about 25, anybody have any thoughts or suggestions. Does anybody know location of the brain box for tranny?

ML 320, sorry been a long day.

 

1. Start the car
2. Put gear in neutral
3. Press 'Low Range'
4. Press 'Low Range'
5. Turn off the car
6. Start the car and you will not see 'Low Range' light flashing

 

I'm having the same problem on my 98. I tried the remedy but no luck. I have never had the need to use the low range. Should I be concerned about bigger transmission problem?
