98 ML320 question

Default 98 ML320 question

i have a question, on my ML320 when you turn off the oil cap , there is an orangeish cream goo on the cap and around the hole. anyone got any ideas what could cause it. vehical runs good, no problems. thanks

I have '99 ML320 with same symptoms, cleaning the oil cap every two-three weeks because I have only 12 miles to work (short runs/quick warm ups and cool offs). It happens only now in winter temperatures and I believe it's normal. My '80 280SE will do same thing in the valve cover breather hose.
