Just discovered today that two glow plugs have at some time in the past been broken. they have just been left was in as is, but two new glow plugs have been fitted lying loosely in the gap under the injector rail with copper tubes hastily fitted to the length of both new plugs.
I only discovered when I smelled burning from the engine bay. The plugs as you can imagine are super hot.
It confuses me that the engine starts and a warning light goes on for a short time then all is fine.
Would I be right in saying the one of the previous owners has done a quick fix to save money.
What is likely to happen to my engine if I keep it running?
