1999 ML-320 SUNROOF PROBLEM
Hello ML Friends!!!!
I recently returned home after having been away for 8 months. Prior to leaving, Mercedes advised that I shoulds disconnect the negative cable to the battey, fill the tank and make sure all tyres had 40 psi each. I followed these instructions... Now fast forward to today.... I connected the cable back to the battery and hooray my Baby started without hesitation... I was sure I would have had a dead battery.... It was certainly a good feeling... But a short lived one at that..............
I wanted to take a quick spin and have the windows down and sun roof open.... That worked just fine. It wasn't until I tried to close the sunroof that I noticed that it would not close all the way. Apparently the "curtain" that rest under the glass/sunroof and which can be easily closed/opened from within the cabin is apparently blocking the glass to fully extend forward approximately 3-4 inches from the final closed position...
I'm assuming that some how the "curtain" got knocked out of track since the glass closes first followd by the "curtain" which it is pulling.....
So heres the question. How do I fix it....? Must I remove the headliner and all that jolly fun stuff or is there an alternatinve? I tried resetting by pulling the fuse to no avail BUT maybe there is a specific procedure I should follow?????
In any case, Your input/help/suggestion would be greatly appreciated.....
Thank you,
John
