Default tranny fluid pouring out of 300e

I have a 1989 300e -- all of a sudden when I put the car either in park or neutral tranny fluid appears to pour from the front of the tranny where thetorque converter is. This has never happened before. but all of a sudden I am losing a terrible amount of fluid. Does anyone have any idea what could have caused this or what the problem may be. Please help

Sounds like you lost some seals, or possibly the pump went bad. If you're not a mechanic, I highly recommend taking it to a reputable Mercedes mechanic. Even I (certified mechanic) will not mess with these Mercedes transmissions.

I took my car to an independent transmission shop -- they advised it was the front pump seal -- cost $400 arggh!!!
