Default 01 320s Wagon?

Looking at purchasing a 2001 E320s Wagon that only has 37K. Any thoughts or issues I should look for? This car would be for my wife so only about 10K per year. this would be my first MB so a little nervous about the reliability and service issues/cost.

thanks for any input.

The outstanding issues, are/were, possibly a bad engine harmonic pulley (replaced under recall). A rust issue that the dealers addressed by spraying wax, a squeek in the steering collum, and rear door window regulators. I would assume the previous owner had those items checked, or go to a dealer andhave them run the Vin for any open issues. I would make sure the manuals are there and all the remotes ( two regular and one emergency) radio code, the Tel-Aid system will stop functioning at the end of the year, the upgrade is available from MB for $600 and up,the service manual should show if it was serviced regularly, the 01 had a complimentary 4 year service!

Besides what has already been mentioned which I agree you should follow, I would make sure GPS (Teleaid) is turned off if you are not going to subscribe to it for fee. If you don't, your dash will show annoying warning, 1 malfunction.

thanks for the great feed back! I will check into the VIN if we decide to pursue this vehicle. I really like the looks of it and hope to test drive in the next few days. If I purchase I will give some feed back and input into the board!

Thank You.

I own a 2000 E320 Wagon and have been pleased overall. We have 60,000 miles. Get the 4 matic if you have snowy conditions and have the option. Problems have been minor such as headlight/taillight bulb replacement. If you purchase under warranty, it might pay to have non-dealer inspect the vehicle prior to expiration of warranty. After our warranty expired, suddenly a laundry list of items needed to be repaired (about $2,500). These were items that I had been wondering about and had been expecting to replace, but they did not address them until just after warranty expired. Let me know if you have any other specific questions.
