Hi, I'm new to the forum and would like to say hi to everybody. I hope to gain a lot of technical experience from this forum in order to gain a better understanding of my car.A 1991 automatic300E. My first question therefore is a technical one hehe.

I was wondering why my transmission will not upshift intothe higher gears. The problem started after my aunt borrowed my car. And since my car is not in the best condition, she didn't know to check the tranny fluid every now and then because it's leaking. When the car came back to me, there was very little fluid left. So now the car somtimes stalls in Drive gear and stays in the first gear and doesn't want to shift no matter how high the RPM. I wanted to this myself because I don't have the funds to bring the car to the shop.Any help would be great. Thanks and Merry Christmas.

 

have the transmission serviced ASAP (full service, change filter and fluid).... then report back..
