Default Tranny or Exhaust is messing up?

I just need some help diagnosing my problem. My dad beleives its the exhaust, but i think its the transmission, this is whats going on. Its a automatic 1997 C230, when it gets to 2nd gear, around 2k rpm, the car starts to vibrate *the center console, and the bottom of the car*. This only happens in 2nd gear and exactly over 2k rpm, so thats why i beleive its the tranny. Does anybody know what could be wrong? And also whats a good aftermarket exhaust system that will increase my performance and sound a bit? I heard of someone putting on a AMG exhaust, but i dont know squat about mercedes, any help will be appreciated

It sounds like your front flex disc needs replacing. Mercedes uses flex discs rather thanconventional U-Joints because they offer a little more "give" and with independent rear suspensions U-Joints aren't needed. It's not a pretty sight if the flex disc tears so I would have it looked at ASAP!!!
