Starting Problem. Sometimes wil not start!
Wow Adrian, I realize that there was no information as to the nature of the no start issue, no crank, crank no fire, no nothing, and your reply is only where to bring there vehicle and debit card. I thought this forum is for members to help other members help them self.
I have an 87 300D Turbo which suddenly would not even crank. The problem was with the dash board harness connection, on the firewall inboard from the fues box. Pulling the connector out and re-inserting it a few times solved the problem.
The 96 and 99 have different engines and EIS systems. I have seen a good number of EIS issues on the older ones, terminal 50 (starter control) burns out, sometimes is intermittent for a long time. Also, since the 96 should have the old transmission, I would have a look at the PRNDL switch. Does it do better in neutral? If so, the park position on the PRNDL is no good.
