shuts down on cold weather

Default shuts down on cold weather




i got a 300 e 1991 benz 300 kilometers </P>


i'm in montreal and at times in winter it gets very cold,what happens is when the temperture gets like -20 celsius and more i have no problem to start it in the morning but i leave with it do a few miles and the car just shuts down on me at the first stop i'll doand there no way i could get it to sart any more,it will crank but won't start I'll wait 20 minutes try again and it will start this occurs only extreme cold tempertures in the summer or warmer winter temperture it doesn't do this problem i would appreciate if someone can help to this.</P>


what I think the possibilities of the problem are</P>


a coil problem</P>


the gas pump -relay- resistance</P>


the idle controll valve box</P>

Do you usually buy your gas at the same station? If yes, try a different name-brand station. Use a popular station thatsells lots of gas. They will have the freshest gas.</P>


When it's -20C outside does your car get subjected to widely varying temperatures? For example, does it go from -20C outside to awarm insidegarage? If yes, add some stuff to your gas tank that removes moisture.</P>


Check the air filter. Change if dirty, but especially if damp.</P>


Replace the fuel filter.</P>
