selecting the gears on Auto Gearbox E320 N reg
Hi
My auto gearbox is having trouble selecting gears between 30-70mph. Its ok at 80mph. Its pulling away OK but has trouble deciding what gear it wants. Does this gearbox have an ECU? Someone told me that if i service it that should clear it? Is it going to cost me loads to sort out?
thanks
emma

OH,
that Emma the one from England
in your door on the post is a plate with the model year and date of manf.
Or in your manual it will tell if you have a 4 speed auto or 5 speed auto. The older 5 speeds can be adjusted for shift point rpm,not as easily as the later electronic ones that any owner can adapt to suit their style.
about 80k miles to us over here,it should have a fluid and filter change and at that time they can adjust the shift pressures.
Look and ask around for a good independent mb shop and find one that services transmissions.Yours should have plenty of good life left in it,if you service it now.
