Radio Code Problems---Please Help!!
I have a 2001 E320 wagon with a newer Audio 10 cd head unit. A couple of weeks ago I had to replace the MAF and in doing so the battery was disconnected and the radio reset. I could only find one code which was obviously incorrect. The radio has been displaying WAIT for over 2 weeks now and won't return to the CODE display. I've removed the radio using the key removal tools as well as disconnected the battery for several hours without any luck. I now have the correct code but can't enter it.
Any ideas on why it won't return to the CODE display?

Wait time
if wrong code is entered is only 10 minutes.key must be on and radio must be on for count down to begin.Did you make sure to hit the button directly below the ok message? After you entered the code.Removing the radio and or disconnecting the battery was the exact opposite direction you need to be going.

i've never experienced the WAIT msg so unable to offer any suggestions. Ohlord, he won't
see the OK prompt because he has the Audio 10.
FYI, here is how he would enter the 5 digit code:
- display flashes for 1st digit
-- turn big **** X number of clicks like combination lock until desired digit appears
-- press big **** once
- display flashes for 2nd digit
-- turn big **** X number.....
..................etc
- display flashes for 5th digit
-- turn big **** X number.... and when all 5 are displayed properly,
press big **** and hold. if code is accepted, radio turns on.
