If you get coolant (radiator water) into the engine oil then the oil would turn into milky color (white). Do not run engine at all in that situation to avoid costly damage.
In my opinion the head cylinder gasket is shot and must be replaced.

Thanx Peter,

The engine oil is very dark , and looks like proper oil with out any water .
One can see water and oil mixed in radiator water container only

The starting is perfect and running is also great. even temprature is normal. accerelation is also good with zero loss of power

somebody told me it could be bcoz of faulty oil cooler.

pls help

Can you please guide , what are the check points if head gasket is shot or damage

Thx

Default oil in the radiator

In my opinion if the oil in the engine was not contaminated with coolant (milky color) and you said that oil was only in the coolant expand container then I wouldn't suspect the head cylinder gasket at all.

With the engine cooled off open the radiator cap and examine the coolant. If the coolant (water) has proper color (not milky color) then you might have had dirty expand container and it needs a cleaning job. After that I would drain the coolant, refill with fresh water and run the engine for an hour and re-examine the coolant.

Knight,

must be the oil cooler...I have that case a few times on ML's and S class Wdb 202 , do service your engine oil and radiator. replace new coolant due to contamination in your cooling system
