Default RE: Quick question

Are you sure you need to replace the alternator.
A charging problem????. You can buy the the voltage regulator and the brush set for about $30..
All you need is a simple screw driver and 10 minutes of your time.
This will solve 95% of all alternator problems.

Default RE: Quick question

The car runs dut after a few feet power cuts out and it will not restart until jumped. The same thing occured with my mothers 300E and after the mechanic replaced the battery and alternator it has not happened since. What you are saying is should they just tried to clean and replace the brushes first? Thank you for your help.
