Default Hey guys quick radio question

I have bought and am about to install an RF noise reduction filter on my 99 c280 with bose system. I am supposed to splice into the positive or power wire and into the negative or ground. I assume these wires are red and black, but I am not sure. Does anybody know what color wires I should look for.
Thanks for your help.

Yes the filter is spliced into the power wire running into the back of the radio. The power wire is red and blue, and the ground wire is brown. I acted like a mechanic and called the local MB dealer and they looked it up for me. The filter seemed to reduce but not solve the problem. This absolutely driving me crazy. I hear what you said about the diode Sleepwalker, but I don't know what machine you are talking about, and I have no clue what a diode is. Could you please elaborate a little. Also can you replace an individual diode or do you have to replace the whole alternator? Thanks so much for your help.

Why not replace the entire head unit?

THE ALTERNATOR DIODE CANNOT BE REPLACED.

was there a noise too when the ignition is only "on" and the engine not running?
