Problems driving in the snow
Yes Nello but have you ever tried using chains with the rear wheeel drive along with real good snow tires like Blizzaks on all 4 tires?? I put snows on my BMW 3 series and it made a big difference. Check out http://spikes-spiders.com/ I hear that they are popular in Europe. I am going to get the sport edition.
http://spikes-spiders.com/ I am going to buy the sport edition. Also, try a bag of sand I works (but take it out when it stops snowing) ALso, Artic ALpins are still too performance orientated I am going with Mich. ICE.

I have both a rear wheel volvo and mercedes live in new england and both are terrible in the snow the difference is the volvo is slow as sh!@ si the tires dont spin as badly as the benz and if I bang up the volvo I would not really care. If it snows that badly there really isnt anywhere that is open so where would one have to go?
My 87 300E without all the fancy traction aids did spectacularly well in the snow on Blizzaks, I drove in near blizzard conditions from Columbus to Cleveland and on to Richmond, I did not drive out of snow until 50 miles out of Richmond. I am not sure if the tires even slipped once. The car drove as well as a 4WD with the Blizzaks. I think there are other great snow tires out there, the Yoko Guardex, Pirelli Winter Ice, I thought the Michelin snows were a good tire until this thread. I think Go Claws are a much better option than the Spikes Spider based on the design though I don't have experience with either.
