Default Power Antenna

About half way up I heard my power antenna pop and it stopped moving. I can still heard the motor when I turn the radio on or off so I don't think it is dead. Can the belt be replaced or must the whole $200 part be replaced?

I thought I was down to replacing my hood release level which would have had me at 100% functionality on my 95 E420 and this one snuck on the list!

replace only the rod antenna. (101)

the plastic gear strip was broken.

very easy to change. release the lock, turn on radio. it goes out itself.

position the new one... turn off radio, it goes down like magic.

you may do it a hundred times and it won't fail.

Thanks! I was hoping it wasn't a whole unit. I see (101) and understand the process. I was thinking a belt drove the process. I can now picture a plastic rod with teeth being run through some gears to raise it.

Where is the lock that you refer to? Is it obvious on the unit?

I have already found several online sources for the antenna

Thanks, that looks too easy! I did see that on the back drivers side cover panel (inside the truck) there appears to be a little **** that when you turn it, allows the cover panel to open a little 4x6" door that has a white plastic **** inside. What's that? It appears to be too far forward to be part of the antenna? Just curious. I will only touch the antenna lock you referred to.
