Default Oilchange gearbox ´98 300tdt

Hi everyone.
Is it difficult to change oil in the automatic gearbox in a E 300 tdt´98? How much oil does it contain and how to "measure" it since there are no stick to do so. (Please have patience with my English, I´m from Sweden".

thanks
tobbe

if you will drain from the oil pan, 1 3/4 liter is enough but if you will drain the torque converter (there is a small hex screw), then about 3 liters.

the best way is to measure the oil that you drained and add about a cup.

without the chopstick, err... the dipstick, you have no way of knowing it.

ATF oil.

the viscosity are all the same.

using MB ATF is good, so you can prevent any shifting problem.

i use the same oil on that little green man on the left, and he keeps on running for long now.
