New member - two questions
Hi. I'm a new member and new owner of a 97 E320. I have two questions:
1) Similar to a recent post, the check engine light has come on and the engine is running rough, like it is missing. The check engine light stays on after turning off the motor and restarting. Once, after the engine had cooled down, it started and ran fine, but a few minutes later it started missing again. We just bought the car and it was running fine, and drove it for about 50 miles - no problems. I realize I'll need to have the code read to attempt to isolate the problem. I'm just wondering if this is common, or if there are a few common problems which may cause this.
2) I would like to get a code reader as well as some books or manuals that explain the codes. Where can I purchase them? I would also like the code reader to work on my 2000 Range Rover, which I beleive has the same "standard" code system (I can't remeber the acronym - OBDI?).
Thanks!!

RE: New member - two questions
it's really better to read the fault code since the problem is temperature related.
camshaft and crankshaft sensor reacts to high temp when nearing the end of it's life.

RE: New member - two questions
Just an update. Turns out it was one of the ignition coils. It was replaced and the car runs fine fine fine. BTW, the mechanic said the wiring harness has already been replaced, and recently. He said the car was in superb shape, well maintained. Thanks for the help.
