Default Mysterious clicking noise in 1999 e320

Last time I drove my 99 E320 I noticed a slight clicking noise when accelerating out of stops. It was very quiet, sometimes even inaudible, but still worrisome. It only happened when coming out of a full stop and it went away shortly after.
Out of fear that it could be my u-joint or carrier bearing going out, I haven’t driven it since (about three days). I haven’t gotten the chance to get it on a lift to check it out myself.
Any suggestions about what it could be? And if so, is there a price estimate on how much it will be to fix it, either at home or in a shop?

Hello and welcome to the forum! Not really enough info to diagnose it. Did it sound like it was coming from under the hood, underneath the car, any lights come on? Did the car feel different?

No lights came on, it didn’t feel any different, and it sounded to me like it was coming from underneath the car.
Thanks!!

That's a tough one, it's always a bit more difficult to diagnose if the car doesn't feel any different - I would still try pulling some codes, even if you didn't get a CEL; you'll likely still have some stored codes that hopefully will help you in troubleshooting where the issue is coming from.
