Muffler disaster-cheap fix!!
Check the photo! It finally fell off right in front of my house, dragged it up our driveway, took photo! It corroded where the pipe goes into the front of muffler. Got pricing from MB dealer to replace, $350.00, same price from Midas. Also got price from TimeValve for stainless system, Cat Back for $900.00. Being cheap I showed this to my son who is an A&P airplane mechanic, decided to measure the hole in the muffler and the diameter of pipe, bought a stepped adapter at my local parts dealer, inserted it into the muffler, cleaned up the end of pipe, then pushed the muffler with adapter over the pipe, used steel rivets, then wrapped the joint with carbon fiber wetted with JB Weld paste, good for 600 degrees F. Total cost was around $10.00 and it should last forever. I'll post a pic of the repair first chance I get. Hope this will save someone else some money!
