Default Magnetic Trans Drain Plug

I heard there is no magnet in the tranny pan of a 1993 300E and I should add one w/ my next fluid/filter change, would a magnetic drain plug for the trans be adequate? and what size/threads would I need for this transmission? (the plug in it now is pretty banged up) t/y

You dropping the pan and replacing the filter?If so MB sells a pan magnet.

yea, thats the way to go, while your in there for service put pan magnet in.
