Default Oil Pan Drain Plug Removal

I was about to change my oil, when I found out the drain plug's bolt head was stripped. I tried using vice grips, but that didn't work either. Could anyone share with me how this kind of problem is solved. I've tried liquid wrench but it still doesn't budge a bit. Thanks</P>

The first thing I would do is buy a new one before you go any further, once you have the new one in your hand you can take it most any repair shop where they can put it up on a lift and jam an impact socket on it. I'm surprised you can't get it off with vise grips, have you tried a really large pair to grip it? Or you can lock the vise-grips on as hard as you can and then hit them with a hammer to "shock" the bolt which sometimes works.

I had the same problem - I took the smaller size socket and hammered it on. It worked.
