Default Looking at E320

Hello all,

I am new here and am not a Mercedes owner yet, but was hoping to get some info on these cars.

What can be done to make the ride a little bit stiffer?
Also, how long can I expect the stock suspensions to last?

I was looking at the 2003 model year with about 50 - 65k miles. Is this a bad idea?

Thanks for any input and advice ahead of time!

2003 or 2004 E320s are some kind of problem prone cars. But they are beautyful to see and to ride. They will be no more much problematic than the 5 series BMWs you show in those photos. You will have no problema with engine, body, or transmission, buy nav sys, air suspension, sbc sys and other minor systems will give you some hard work. Probably the used car you buy will have all those problems already fixed. So enjoy the ride, you live your life only one time.

Thank you for the reply.
I am used to dealing with wierd electrical issus and weak points in suspensions. From what you say, thes cars sound very similar to the BMW 5 series.

It looks like I may feel right at home with one of these cars, then.

Are there any options or packages that are a "must have"?

I bought a used 03 e320 with 35k. Other than needing service d right around the corner, it has been a great car. Fun to drive, rides like a dream. Not as "quick as a bimmer, but fast in the mid and upper end. Sports package handles well (not like a bimmer), great all around car, especially if you have or plan on having a family. I probably would have bought a 5 series without a wife and two young ones. But, after test driving both for months, I am glad I went with the E320. Great car, good luck.
