I have a 1999 benz e 320 that was park in my garage for two weeks. The battery went dead. I replaced it with a new one and now the key wont turn in the ignition. Before that, I tried several time to get the car start when the key was able to turn with the old battery.(the key was working fine) I ordered a new key and I still get the same result and I get no sound from the radio. Could this be an electrical problem or my ignition switch went bad?

 

After you replace the battery you have to re-program the computer. Check your car manual.

 

did you change the battery with the key in the ignition? ive seen a few times the keys get ruined when leaving them in the ignition when swapping the battery. ive replaced many batteries in Benzs without having to reprogram anything except windows, roof, seats , clock, steering wheel, etc. does the lights turn on? do the locks work? double check your battery connections. key should turn. are you getting any power at all to the car?
