Default JUST BOUGHT A E320 - MY FIRST MERCEDES

Ok, so it's a 2002 with 90k miles. Paid $15,500 for it. I spoke to the previous owner and she said it was all highway driving. It's looks brand new and for that price I couldn't pass it up.

Anyone have any comments/opinions on the high mileage? How long will this car go? My previous car (Lexus sc300) was still going strong at 170,000. I'm hoping I can expect the same from this one.

What should I look for? Any preventitive maintenance I should be doing?

Any suggestions would certainly help.

We also just bought a 2003 ML320 for my wife with 34,000 miles.

I think the 3.2L V6 engine is going to be known as "excellent" as more time passes. Our '02 wagon is a wonder of economy and efficiency as it approaches 70k miles. The car is an absolute pleasure to drive and still appears new.

I'd suggest performing a comprehensive B service (incl fuel filter) unless you have records supporting this maintenance has already been completed. Feed it good oil meeting the 229.5 spec and keep an eye out for potential problems, leaks, rust. I'd also service the transmission immediately unless you can verify it was done.

Good luck and enjoy!
