Interior lights comong on whilst driving.
I have trouble with my R reg. E240 with the interior lights come on at odd times they stay on for a few minutes and then go off after a minute or so. The remote locking also plays up, some days it will unlock from a fair distance, other times I have to be right next to the car before it will open/close. I've put in new batteries in the fob.

what you are experiencing may simply be a worn door switch/pin. what occurs is that the door
is affected by the road vibrations and it wiggles a little. the door pin vibrates the switch which
in turn repeatedly turns the light on-and-off. so see if the light happens when you're driving
rougher pavement.
you can test this by taping a coin directly across/opposite the door pin. this "shim" from the
coin should force the door pin to turn off more securely. do this with each door...one at a time,
then drive to see if the light flashing disappears. when it does, you know you have found the
right door pin to replace. or, to leave the coin taped to the door.
the w210 model Mercedes have had many owners complain on the various forums about short
distance needed before the remote un/locking will function. you can try this trick: hold the
remove to your lower jaw bone and press the lock button. in many cases it helps give you
another 5 meters in distance
